 Untrustworthy

Untrustworthy

Why is it that my laptop always ditches me and not my husband’s? I am left at his mercy now that my computer hard drive has crashed. I mean, I am guessing that it is the hard drive. I decided not to plead to my husband to borrow his laptop. So I am looking for a new one now. I am researching various models of computers. Read a few computer reviews, but I think I will need my husband’s help after all. He is the one who is software engineer, not me. But I know what he is going to say when I ask him to look for a new computer for me. He will give me some excuse. He was saying that my old (treacherous) one can be repaired by installing windows again. But he can’t find the windows xp CD at home so will look in the office.

Visa rules have changed

Visa rules have changed

Its time again to apply for visa extension. After so much hassles we applied for visa extension and waited for the biometric appointment, but none came. After two weeks of anxious waiting, we got our application returned to us. The bank had refused the withdrawal of visa fee. Again had to fill forms as the forms had changed after 31 July 2010. Finally resubmitted and today received the confirmation and appointment for biometric test for Wednesday. We will have to take both the kids with us. As per the rules, there is no need for children under 6 to go for biometric test, but the home office has sent forms for the kids too. So we will have to take them along.

Unwelcome guests are a headache

Unwelcome guests are a headache

Last week a friend of my husband came to visit us with his family. They had not made a programme, were nearby and decided to drop in unannounced. My husband had to return home early from office to buy snacks for them as there was nothing at home to serve. After they left, I had a hard time putting my son to sleep. He was irritable and cranky because I was attending the guests when it was the time for him to sleep. It is okay if a 9 month old doesn’t go to bed on time once in a while. But my son has been down with viral and he is not in best of his health and I am really worried about his weight. If he doesn’t get enough sleep, he won’t eat properly and will be irritable the next day too. But who cares about these things! Only the mother.

chertseyLast Sunday I went to Woking on some work. This was my first time to go out anywhere after returning to England. I had never been to Woking too. So I was a bit apprehensive to reach the address safe and sound. I took the bus from near my house. The route was a pleasant scenic one. Chertsey is located on the route. Its a small town with old world aura. No steel buildings here, only the Victorian houses and bungalows. I wanted to explore the area, as I had a day pass. But I was worried about my son, who has never been without me for more than an hour. But it turned out that I was worrying needlessly, he spent time comfortably with his father ( and not at all missed me).

Wives have some money hideen from their husbands

Wives have some money hideen from their husbands

Yesterday I did something secretly that got me some cash. My husband doesn’t know about this. One of our relatives who visited us last month, brought clothes for both of my children and merrell shoes for me. The dresses were either short or over size. I decided to return them. I liked my shoes too much to think of returning them though. Yesterday was the last date of returning. When my husband went to office, I went and did it. He doesn’t know that I have returned the items. This means I can have the 22 quids all to myself and I can buy my craft items without my husband frowning at me for wasting money!
