Brother is Gettig Engaged

Posted on the July 31st, 2009 under Brother by Sweet Mommy

So after a long wait and a log list of would be brides, my brother has finally relented to get married. His engagement is on 8th August. I wouldn’t be able to attend it because I am returning home on 25th. I talked to his intended today. She seems to be a nice girl. My brother is all praises for her, says she is fun loving and sweet. It seemed so when I talked to her. She seemed like an easy going person. We talked about my brother and the wedding plans and geeral chit chat. She even shared that she is afraid that the acne on her face will ruin the fun on engagemet day. I suggest some best acne treatments, which I know, and she said that she would try them. Lets hope the poor girl gets some respite and enjoy her day.

How I Envy Her!

When my sister visited me last month, I was taken by surprise. Ofcourse it was not her visit, ( we had already planned it months in advance), but her appearance which got me off. She was looking stunning. I thought she was on the diet pills, and that’s how she had managed to shed those extra pounds. But my sister revealed that it was all the result of the happiness and contentment she was feeling after he in-laws finally decided to shift to her brother-in law’s place. Her mother-in law is really a pest and had made her life hell. I am so happy for her now that she can live in peace. But I do envy her new figure though ;)

PC Gave Up the Ghost

Nothing surprising actually. The desktop computer was dying a slow death for the past few weeks. Its an inconvinience that I can do without. My little daughter has got a hang of playing online games ( learning activities for toddlers) and it was the desktop that I used for this purpose. Now I find myself a competitor who also want to work on the laptop. My husband thinks that it will be a good idea if I look at some of the netbooks, available online. We generally use laptop or the personal computer to log on the internet and surf, so netbook is a cheaper and more suitable option for us than the laptop. Lets see if get to finally buy one.

The Idiot of a Principal

Posted on the July 20th, 2009 under Ideas by Sweet Mommy

I am really mad today. My husband told me that the principal of my college insulted my father-in law when he had gone to submit my leave extension application. The principal behaved very rudely and asked my father-in law why shouldn’t I leave the job if I can’t stay away from my husband. What a jerk.
He has no right or authority to question my application. He ought to be taking some diet supplements to soothe his big fat ego.He just has to forward the application to the Education department and that’s all. But he is from that breed of creepers who like to show off their power on people whom they consider helpless. I am really seething with anger. The idiot is going to retire at the end of this month.

No Worries about Luggage

Posted on the July 1st, 2009 under Ideas, Me by Sweet Mommy

I will be leaving for India in the last week of August and this time its the final goodbye to Edinburgh. I liked this quiet city and enjoyed my stay here. Earlier we were worried how we ar gonna take back all the things that we have collected over the past three years. But I am relieved now, as my husband told me about company’s policy regarding shipping of items. Together the three of us are allowed a minimum of 700 kg of luggage, which is more than sufficient for us. But there are some restriction too, regarding which items can’r be shipped. I wanted to buy a secondhand one of those swing sets for my daughter, which are sold online. But my husband showed me the company e-mail which clearly states that swing sets are not allowed in the shipment. In India only the upper class have swings for kids in their homes. I think I have to miss it this time.
