I saw a medical job listings on the net and was reminded of my PMT days. I wanted to be a doctor like my father. My husband told me that someone has put a public interest litigation in Chandigarh High Court challenging the appointment of my father’s appointment to three posts ( which is against rules). I must say that I am happy about this PIL. My father is an epitome of honesty and dedication. He was made chairperson of anti corruption cell and he is also the examination controller. He holds both these posts along side his senior professor’s job. It is not uncommon for senior doctors to hold multiple posts. The present VC has insisted that my father stick to both extra jobs, though it is really difficult. We always say that these are thankless jobs, no body gives a hoot to what he is doing to free the hospital from corruption or to conduct exams fairly. One false report in the media would be enough to tarnish his image. Nobody cares to check the facts or question the authenticity of such reports.
My husband had asked me to go bring Jahnavi home from her school today as he will be busy. But it is raining heavily. It’s been like this through out the week. I won’t be able to go now because my son has still not recovered fully from the flu he had some days back. The weather is very depressing. This is what I don’t like about England. You only have two months of intermittent good weather, for the rest of the months, you have to cover yourself from top to bottom.
This weekend we went to visit a friend. He has been insisting on our visit for a long time. They are from our home town in India. The husband is working at Indian Embassy and the wife stays at home. We had a lovely time there. They have two kids. The younger daughter is only a year older than Jahnvi. I took photos of the two. The family bathroom has sauna fitted in it. I didn’t know that an only noticed the hot tub cover. Later while returning my husband told me that though it is not allowed to alter the property on high commission’s premises, sometimes rules are bent.
